About INAEC:

INAEC is built on heritage. An introduction to INAEC will always begin in 1932, when Iloilo-Negros Air Express Company (INAEC) was first established as the first Philippine airline. The story could have ended in 1940 when its entire fleet was destroyed during the Second World War.

But INAEC is a Filipino corporation founded on Filipino values, and resiliency is deeply entrenched in our culture. Thus, INAEC was reborn in 1993 as INAEC Aviation Corporation, initially to serve the aviation needs of the Lopez Group of Companies, a Filipino conglomerate with businesses in clean energy generation and distribution, media and broadcasting, and real estate development.

INAEC has since evolved into a multi-mission company providing a wide range of aviation services, including air charters, both domestic and international, aircraft management, aircraft maintenance, medical evacuation, fixed base operations, and aviation training.

In 2019, INAEC obtained its International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BA0) Stage 1 Certification. This marked the first time a holder of a Philippine Air Operator Certificate (AOC) has been accorded such distinction. Two years later, in 2021, notwithstanding the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, INAEC achieved its IS-BAO Stage 2 Certification, remaining the only Philippine AOC holder to do so.

With its strict adherence to international standards and the characteristic Filipino service of warmth and professionalism, the INAEC brand has become synonymous with safety, excellence, and integrity.

Benjamin 'Jay' R. Lopez, President, INAEC Aviation Corporation

Benjamin ‘Jay’ R. Lopez was appointed as INAEC president in July 2007. Under his leadership, INAEC has evolved from an air charter company catering to the needs of its affiliate companies to a multi-mission company providing a wide range of aviation services to its discerning clientele, such as air charter, aircraft maintenance, aircraft management, medical evacuation, and fixed base operations services, among others. As a testament to Mr. Lopez’s passion for safety and focus on customer satisfaction, INAEC has become the sole air transport service provider for the offshore oil and gas producers (OGP) in the Philippines, an industry known for its stringent international standards, and the only charter operator in the Philippines which has obtained a Stage 2 Certification for the International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations, or IS-BAO.

From 2018 to 2019, he was appointed as Chairman of the Philippine Chapter of the Asian Business Aviation Association, a regional non-profit association with the objective of supporting and developing the business and general aviation industry throughout Asia.

He is also a trustee of various foundations focused on education, the arts, and population and development issues.

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs with a concentration in economics from George Washington University, Washington D.C. (1992) and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Management (2001).
